This video will explain you how the great Himalaya was formed from ancient Pangea. It was the initial giant continental landmass formed and had broken into pieces. Gondwana was the southern part which was drifted towadrs north-east direction and collide with Laurasia to form Himalaya.
Alfred Wegener was the first scientist to give concept about Pangea.
He explained about landmass (Pangea) and giant water body (Panthalassa) but was unable to explain the cause of drifting of broken parts...
